The OPUS Story
After 41 years in business OPUS has become an icon in Australian retail. OPUS has been in continual operation since 1968 in the Sydney suburb of Paddington and is owned by the very proud Tass Tourgelis and family. OPUS is all about celebrating design and style, quirkiness and fun whilst keeping affordability and accessibility in mind. We want people to be excited by our products and also be able to afford them. Our products are certainly not regular or run-of-the-mill. We source our products from all over the world and we are constantly searching for the perfect gift. We deal with hundreds of suppliers and we go the extra mile to be the absolute best at what we do. That’s why we are known as the ‘Gift Guru’s’!
As well as our very successful OPUS store, we also have a beautiful store in the Sydney suburb of Newtown called OCTOPUS design (established in 2002). This store is our way of spreading our warm and fuzzy brand of retailing further and wider without just doing the same old thing. OCTOPUS is brash, bold and sometimes really very naughty! We love the gifts we sell and we are truly passionate about both of our stores.
Our website is a fusion of products from both of our stores. It is unique, special, and our way of getting closer to our customers.
